1. Refund and Return Period

2. Exceptions to the 14-Day Policy

• • Sealed items that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed (e.g., cosmetics or medical products).

• • Software or digital media after it has been downloaded or used.

• • Services that have already been performed or partially completed with the consumer’s consent.

3. Refund Timeline

 

• • If a consumer exercises their right to return a product, the business must process the refund within 14 days of accepting the returned product.

4. Faulty or Defective Products

 

• • If a product is found to be faulty, damaged, or not as described, the consumer has the right to:

• • Request a repair.

• • Ask for a replacement.

• • Receive a full refund.

• • The consumer can report a faulty product up to 30 days from the date of receipt, unless the warranty specifies a longer period.

5. Warranties

 

• • Retailers are obligated to honor warranties and repair any defects during the warranty period at no additional cost.

• • If the defect cannot be repaired within a reasonable timeframe, the consumer may request a replacement or a refund.

6. Refund Method

 

• • Refunds must be made in the same payment method used for the purchase unless the consumer agrees to an alternative method.

7. Advertising and Promotions

 

• • Products sold during promotions or sales are still subject to refund and return rights unless specifically excluded in the terms of sale (and as long as these exclusions comply with the law).

8. Contacting the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA)

Consumers who face issues with a seller not complying with refund or return policies can file a complaint with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency (CPA).
